La alegoría ( Gálatas 4:22) está dirigida a creyentes justificados pero inmaduros (compare ( 1 Corintios 3:1); ( 1 Corintios 3:2) quien, bajo la influencia de maestros legalistas, "desea estar bajo la ley" y, por lo tanto, no tiene aplicación para un pecador que busca justificación. Se plantea y responde, por la quinta vez en esta Epístola, la pregunta, ¿Está el creyente bajo la ley? ( Gálatas 2:19); ( Gálatas 3:1); ( Gálatas 3:25); ( Gálatas 3:26); ( Gálatas 4:4); ( Gálatas 4:4); ( Gálatas 4:9).
