an Italian theologian, brother of Carlo (1),was born at Naples in May,. 1585. He became a Jesuit at sixteen years of age, and in 1645 was made general of his order. He died at Rome, June 8, 1649, leaving Theologia Mystica, etc. (Cologne, 1660, 9 parts, in 2 vols.). His Life was written by Dan. Bartoli (Rome, 1651). See Landon, Eccles. Dict. s.v.; Hoefer, Nouv.
