Caraglio (Lat. Caralius), Giovannni Giacomo,

an eminent Italian designer and engraver, was born at Verona or Parma about 1500, and studied at Rome under 31. A. Raimondi. He flourished as an engraver on copper from 1526 to 1551, and died at Parma in 1571. His principal works are, The Virgin and Infant, under an orange-tree; The Marriage of the Virgin; The Holy Family.
