Simon (St.) And Judes (St.) Day,
a holy day appointed by the Church for the commemoration of these two saints, associated probably because of their relationship (Matthew 13:55), Oct. 28. When this festival was instituted history does not inform us; but it is usually referred to the 12th or 13th century. See Riddle, Christ. Antiq.; Hook, Ch. Dict.
