a German Jewish writer, was born Jan. 14, 1664, at Frankfort-on-the-Main, where he also died, Feb. 14, 1722, as the rector of the gymnasium. Schudt is well known as the author of the Memorabilia Judaica, or J dische Merkw rdigkeiten (Frankf. 1714-17, 4 pts.). This may be regarded as the most important of his works, which are enumerated by F rst in his Bibl. Jud. 3, 292 sq. See also Steinschneider, Bibliog. Handbuch, s.v.; Winer, Handbuch der theol.
