Rohrbacher, Rene Francois
Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature
a Roman Catholic theologian of France, was born at Langatte in 1789. For some time professor of theology in the clerical seminary at Nancy, he. went in 1849 to Paris, and died in 1856. Rohrbacher is the author of, Histoire Universelle de l'Eglise Catholique (Nancy, 1842-49, 29 volumes; 2d ed. Paris, 1849-53), afterwards translated into German:Catechisme du Sens Communn (2d ed. 1858): — La Religion Meiditee (2d ed. 1852, 2 volumes): — Des Rapports Naturels entre les deux Puissances (Besan(on, 1838, 2 volumes): — De la Grace et de la Nature (eod.): — Motifis qui ont Ramene a l'Eglise Catholique un Grand Numbre de Protestants et d'Autres Religionnaires (Paris, 1841, 2 volumes).
