was a learned French Benedictine monk in the 9th century, and was brought up in the abbey of St. Germain, Auxerre. He was appointed teacher to the schools belonging to the monastery, afterwards taught at Rheims, then went to Paris and opened the first public school in that city after learning had sunk under the ravages of the Normans. His works are, Commentarius in Omnes Davidis Psalmos (Cologne, 1536): — Enarrationes in Posteriores XI Minores Prophetas (Antwerp, 1545), with the Commentaries of OEcumenius on the Acts and Epistles, and those of Arethas on Revelation: — and Expositio Missa.
