is conjecturally located by Tristram (Bible Places, page 226), at Tibneh, a little west of Jebel Ajlun, the northerly crest of Gilead. "It is the most conspicuous site in the district, a fine natural fortress on an isolated round mamelon-shaped hill, rising above the wide plateau, and commanding a magnificent view of western Palestine."
