(Heb. Yehoiddah', יְהוֹעִדָּה , Jehovah is his ornament; Sept. Ι᾿ωιαδά v.r. Ι᾿αδά), son of Ahaz, and father of Alemeth and others of the descendants of Saul through Mephibosheth (1 Chronicles 8:36), called JARAH ( יִעְרָה Yarah', dropping of honey, as in 1 Samuel 14:27, otherwise woodsman, but more probably a corrupt reading for יִעְדָּה, Yahda', i.q. Jehoadah; Sept. Ι᾿αδά, Vulg. Jara) in the parallel passage (1 Chronicles 9:42).. B.C. considerably post 1037. Jehoad'dan (Heb. ‘ Yehoaddan', יְהוֹעִדָּן,i. q. Jehoadah; Sept. Ι᾿ωαδέν), a female of Jerusalem, mother of king Amaziah, and consequently wife of king Jehoash, whom she appears to have survived (1 Kings 14:2; 2 Chronicles 25:1; in the former of which passages the text has יְהוֹעִדַּין, Yehoaddin').
