(Heb. Chammoth'-Dor, חִמֹּת דּאֹר prob. for חִמִּתאּדּוֹר, Hammath of Dor, but the reason of the latter part of the name is not clear; Sept. Ἀμαθδώρ, Vulg. Hamoth Dor), a Levitical and refuge city of Naphtali (Joshua 21:32); probably the same elsewhere called simply HAIMMATH (Joshua 19:35).
