a Lutheran theologian of Germany, was born Dec. 25, 1576. He studied at Leipsic, was in 1599 preacher there, in 1601 rector at Schneeberg, in 1609 professor of theology at Wittenberg, and in 1613 general superintendent and president of the consistory at Mansfeld.
