a French prelate, was born in Paris, November 3, 1785; early became a politician, but shortly after entered the seminary: of St. Sulpice; was ordained in 1811; immediately became grand-vicar of the diocese of Chambdry; was consecrated bishop of Nancy and Toul in 1824; during the political dangers following he took refuge in Canada, but returned to France, and died near Marseilles, July 12, 1844.
