a Roman Catholic theologian of Germany, was born at Hopfgarten, in the Tyrol, in 1777. He took holy orders in 1800, and was for some time professor of theology at Innspruck. In 1821 he was called to Tubingen, where he died, July 20, 1831. Besides contributing to the Tubingen Theologische Quartalschrift, he wrote Einleitung in die Bucher des Neuen Bundes (Innspruck, 1810; Tubingen, 1830). See Winer, Handbuch der theol.
