Douglas, Robert (2), D.D.

a Scotch clergyman, son of John Douglas, minister of Jedburgh, was licensed to preach September 5, 1769; presented to the living at Galashiels in March, and ordained in July 1770. He died November 15, 1820, aged seventy-three years. He was assiduous in promoting the manufactures and the interest of his parishioners, by his advice and pecuniary assistance. He published Observations on the Noture of Oaths, and the Danger of Multiplying Them (1783): General View of the Agriculture of Roxburgh and Selkirk (Edinburgh, 1798): An Account of the Parish.
