a party of the Remonstrants of Holland. It derived its name from the members calling their assemblies colleges. They rejected all creeds, all regular ministers, and all tests of communion and forms of ecclesiastical government. They are sometimes called Rhinsbergers, because they met twice a year at Rhinsberg, a village near Leyden. The Collegiants were confined to Holland; but some of their practices are followed by other religious bodies in other countries, as by the Plymouth Brethren (q.v.) in England.
