an Italian priest and antiquarian, was born May 18, 1795, at Levizzano, near Modena. He studied at Modena and Bologna; was in 1821 custodian of the numismatic collection at Modena, and in 1847 librarian there, also professor of Biblical hermeneutics at the university from 1830 to 1863. He died Nov. 26, 1865, leaving Numismatica Biblica (Modena, 1850; Germ. transl. by Werthof, 2 parts, Hanover, 1855-56): — Confutatione dei Principali Errori de Ernesto Renan nella sua Vie de Jesus (Modeia, 1863).
