Caro (De Torres), Don Francisco

a Spanish priest and traveler, was born at Seville, and lived in the early part of the 17th century. He belonged to the order of Sant-Yago, and traversed successively the Netherlands and the West Indies. He wrote, Relacion de los Servicios del Don Alonso do Sotomayor, etc.: — also Historia de los Ordones de Sant-Yago, Calatrava y Alcantara (Madrid, 1629, fol.). See Hoefer, Nouv. Biog.
