a Bohemian prelate, was born at Muglitz, in Moravia, February 13, 1518. He studied at Prague, where he also received holy orders. In the war against the Turks, 1542-45, he was Austrian chaplain. In 1558 the emperor, Ferdinand I, made him bishop of Vienna, and in 1562 he was raised to the archepiscopal see of Prague. He also attended the council at Trent. He died August 28, 1580.
