a Presbyterian minister, was born near Guilford, County of Down, Ireland, Dec. 26, 1773. His early education was guarded by religious parents. In 1812 he was licensed to preach by the South Carolina Presbytery, and accepted a call to the Broadanay congregation, which was in Pendleton District. He held several responsible positions in the Church, all of which he discharged faithfully. He died in January,, 1839. He was the author of The Science of Praise. See Sprague, Annals of the Amer.
