D.D., a Presbyterian minister, graduated at the College of New Jersey in 1760. He was licensed by the Newcastle Presbytery in 1767, and in October of the same year presented his credentials to the Hanover Presbytery, and accepted a call to Sugar Creek, N. C. He subsequently removed to Bullock's Creek, S. C., where he exercised his ministry and taught a school of high order, as he had also done in North Carolina. He was a man of small stature. but of fine talents and accomplishments, and an uncommonly animated and popular preacher. He died July 30, 1809. A volume of his sermons was published after his death.
