Adler, George Christian (2),

a German archeologist and theologian, was born at Altstadt-Brandenburg, May 6, 1734. He studied theology at Halle, and became a Lutheran minister, first at Sarau, then at Altona. He died at Altona, Nov. 2,1804. His principal works are, Ausfiihrliche Beschreibung der Stadt Rom (Altona, 1781) :-Nachricht von den pontinischen Siimpfen (Hamb. 1784):-an edition of Frontin, De Aquceductibus Urbis Romce (Leips. and Altona, 1792), with notes..
