(Ἀκούας ), an early teacher of Manichseism, who is said to have come from Mesopotamia and introduced the heresy into Eleutheropolis. The Manichaeains were sometimes called, after him, Acuanitce. Epiphanius (Adv. Hacr. 66, 1) calls him veteranus, and places the rise of his followers in the fourth year of the reign of the emperor Aurelian, A.D. 273.
