(Heb. Abi', אֲבַי , my father, or rather father of (See ABI)-; Sept. ‘Αβί, Vulg. Abi), a shortened form (comp. 2 Chronicles 29:1) of ABIJAH (See ABIJAH) (q.v.), the name of the mother of King Hezekiah (2 Kings 18:2, where the full form is also read in some MSS.).
