an eminent Methodist Episcopal missionary, was born in the state of New York, June 30, 1806. She was converted in 1836, and sailed as a missionary fior Africa, June 15, 1837. She labored there until 1841, when she returned to America to recruit her health; went out again in 1842, returned with broken health in 1853; sailed again in 1854, but was once more obliged to return, in 1857. She was preparing for active service in a juvenile asylum; when she suddenly died, November 13 of the last-named year.
