Warner, Ferdinando, Ll.d.
Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature
or an English clergyman and voluminous writer, was born in 1703. He studied some time at Jesus College, Cambridge, but is not recorded among its graduates; became vicar of Ronde, Wiltshire, in 1730; rector of St. Michael Queenhithe, London, in 1746; and, in addition, rector of Barnes, in Surrey, in 1758. He died of gout about 1767. Among his published works are the following: System of Divinity and Morality (Lond. 1750): — Rational Defense of the English Reformation (1752): — An Illustration of the Book of Common Prayer and Administration of the Sacraments (1754): — Ecclesiastical History of England from the Earliest Accounts to the Eighteenth Century (1756-57): — Memoirs of the Life of Sir Thomas More (1758): The History of Ireland (1763): — and History of the Rebellion and Civil War in Ireland from 1641 to 1660 (1767).
