a learned German, was born in April, 1644, at Delitsch, in Misnia, and was the son of a rich merchant. He studied at Altenberg and Wittenberg, and was for twenty-three years rector of the School of Gustrow, and afterwards of that of St. John at Hamburg, where he died, July 7,1682. He wrote numerous works, chiefly on sacred science and antiquities, for which see Hoefer, Nouv. Biog. G neral, s.v.
