a Spanish painter, flourished in Toledo in the first part of the 16th century. In 1508 he began the painting of several pictures for the Mozarabic Chapel, in the cathedral, which, with some assistance he finished in 1510. In 1547 he was employed by the bishop of Placentia to adorn a chapel, which he had Tebuilt, with a series of forty-five pictures in sacred history, from the fall of Adam to the death of Christ. These works have been commended for their purity of style and correctness of design. He finished the chapel in 1548. He is supposed to have died about 1551. See Spooner, Biog.
