a French ecclesiastic historian, was born at St. Denis, near Paris, Sept. 8,1683. He was educated at the College of Harcourt, took the rule of the Carmelites, taught philosophy at Ploermel, and theology at Nantes, Hennebon, and St. Pol of L on, and after 1727 gave himself to preaching. He finally went to Orleans as director of the Convent of St. Madeleine, and died in 1758, leaving a Bibliotheca Carmelitisca (Orleans, 1752, 2 vols. fol.).
