a Methodist Episcopal minister, was born in Southampton County, Va., March 17,1766. He began preaching in 1788 entered the Virginia Conference in 1790; married in 1791; removed to North Carolina in 1799, and three years later to Mississippi, where he labored until his decease, near Vicksburg, Aug. 5, 1819.
