a Jesuit of France, eminently distinguished for his accomplishments in belles-lettres, was born in 1605 at Paray. He entered the Society of Jesuits in 1621, and taught polite literature and rhetoric for seven years. In 1645 he was called to Paris to teach Holy Scripture, and died there Dec. 16, i681. He understood the Latin tongue very exactly. He wrote, Jobus, sive de Patientia, Libri IV (printed very often, last edition 1679): Theurgicon, sive de Miraculis Christi, Libri IV. De Forma Christi Dissertatio, etc. His works were published in 1709 at Amsterdam.
