a Reformed (Dutch) minister, was born near North Branch, N.J., Feb. 8, 1739. He studied privately, and was licensed in 1773. He was pastor at Shawanguink and New Paltz, N.Y., from 1774 to 1778; married Catharine (Hagar), widow of R. I. Goetschius, of Schoharie, Feb. 24, 1776; was For at Shawangunk and Montgomery from 1778 t1 1785; supplied Middleburgh from 1774 to 1780; Schoharie from 1780 to 1785; was pastor at Jamaica, Newtown, Oyster Bay, and Success, L.I., from 1785 to 1797, and at Schoharie from 1797 to 1803. He died at Readington, N.J., July 9,1813. See Corwin, Manual of the Ref. Church in America, s.v.
