a minister of the Methodist Episcopal Church, was admitted into the North Ohio Conference on trial in 1841. He labored effectively until 1865, when he took a supernumerary relation. In 1868 he became superannuated, and so continued until his death, in Effingham County, Ill., in 1876. Mr. Spafford was a man of brilliant intellect, but of peculiar sensitiveness.
