a minister of the Methodist Episcopal Church, was born in Marlborough, Ulster Co., N.Y., Sept. 30, 1809. He was licensed to preach at the age of twenty-two, and was also admitted into the New York Conference on trial. When this conference was divided, Mr. Smith being stationed at Willett Street, New York city, became a member of the New York East Conference. His last appointment was to the Second Church, New Haven, Conn., where his health failed. He removed to Warwick in July, 1854, and died Sept. 30, in the same year.
