A minister of the Methodist Episcopal Church, was born in Mt. Vernon, O., Feb. 9, 1816. He was licensed to preach in 1837; and in 1838 he was admitted to the Michigan Conference, then embracing a part of Ohio. For more than thirty-four years Sapp served the Church, twenty-three of which were spent in the regular pastorate, and ten in the presiding eldership. His last sermon was preached at Alaska, Mich., Jan. 12, 1873, and on May 5 he died, in holy triumph, at Grand Rapids.
