Pritz, Johann Georg
Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature
a German theologian, was born at Leipsic in 1662. After having been an evangelical minister at Leipsic and at Zerbst, he became superintendent at Schleitz. He was made professor of theology at Greifswalde, and in 1711 was called to Frankfort-on-the-Main as senior minister. He died in the year 1732. Among his numerous writings we cite the following: De contemptu divitiarumn apud antiquos philosophos (Leipsic, 1693, 4to): — De prceroigativa sexus masculini prce femineo (4to): — De immortalitate hominis, contora Asgilium (ibid. 1702, 4to): — Proben der Beredtsamkceit (noted for eloquence) (ibid. 1702, 8vo): — Introductio in Novun Testamentumn (ibid. 1709, 8vo).
