Peyrat, Napoleon
Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature
a Protestant theologian and historian of France, was born at Bordes-sur- Arise, Aribge, January 20, 1809. In 1849 he was appointed pastor at St. Germain-en-Laye, and he died April 4, 1881. He is the author of Pasteurs du Desert (1842), a work which has been styled "un benedictin romantique." This work was followed by L'Histoire de Vigilance: — Les Reformateurs de la Fraunce et de l'Italie au Douzienne Siecle (Pierre de Brueys, Arrigo, Abelard, Arnaud de Brescia, St. Bernard, Berenger): — Le. Colloque de Poissy: — Le Siege du Mss d'Azil: — L'Histoire des Albigeois: — Beranger et Lamsennais, Correspondence et Souvenirs (Paris, 1861), this last a charming volume. See Mme.
