a Baptist minister, was born in Orange County, N.Y., May 18, 1820. He graduated at Madison University in 1843, and from the theological department of the same institution in 1845; soon after became pastor in Rondout, N.Y., remaining there four years; then at Sing Sing six years; next at the Sixteenth Street Church, New York city, and had a successful ministry for seventeen years; and finally of the East Church, in the seventh ward of the same city, where he died, June 20, 1883.
