McMillan, Robert
Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature
a Presbyterian minister, was born in Washington County, Pa., March 10, 1829; graduated at Jefferson College, Canonsburg, Pa., in 1850, then taught some months in Darlington, Pa., and afterwards took charge of the academy in Cross-Creek village, where he labored for three years with great acceptance. Subsequently he studied theology at the Western Theological Seminary in Alleghany City; was licensed in 1856, and in 1857 ordained and installed pastor of the congregations of Warren and Pine Run, Pa., where he labored until his death, Aug. 1, 1864. Mr. McMillan possessed a clear mind, a warm heart, and a most unassuming spirit; his talents were of a high order, cultivated by thorough education; his sermons were of the richest ingredients and finest mould.
