D.D., a Presbyterian minister, was born in Ireland, Feb. 13, 1778; came to this country when yet a child, and was educated at Jefferson College, Pa., where he graduated in 1803; was ordained August 8, 1808, and was pastor of Duanesburg Church, N. Y., from 1808 to 1840, and of the Church at Princeton, Ind., from 1840 to 1846. He died at New Albany, Ind., March 15, 1854. His works are: An Essay in Defence of some Fundamental Doctrines of Christianity: An Analysis of the Shorter Catechism (1815): An Apology for the Book of Psalms: The Moral Character of Civil Government considered (1832): Thoughts on Union in the Church of God (1846).
