a Presbyterian minister, was born near Harris Ferry, Lancaster County, Pa., Aug. 23, 1746, and graduated at New Jersey College in 1772; was licensed in 1774, and, after laboring for two years in Virginia, accepted a call from the congregation of Thyatira in 1777. About 1785 he opened a classical school named Zion Parnassus. which he continued ten or twelve years. He died Jan. 21, 1811. Dr. McCorkle published Four Discourses on the great First Principles of Deism and Revelation contrasted (1797): — Three Discourses on the Terms of Christian Communion: — Occasional Sermons.
