a Lutheran theologian of Germany, was born at Jena, February 2, 1615. After completing his studies at Leipsic and Jena, he travelled through Holland, France, and Italy, was made in 1645 doctor of theology, and elected professor at Jena in 1646. He died. April 25, 1655. Major wrote, Commentationes in Epoistolam ad Hebraeos: — De Naturaet Cultu Angelorum: — De Oratione pro Defunctis: — Disputationes de Potestate Clavium.
