a French theologian and controversialist, was born at Rennes July 9, 1600. He entered the Carmelite convent when quite young, and, being greatly esteemed by the order, he successively filled nearly all the positions in their gift. He died at the convent "des Billettes," Dec. 30,1671. He wrote Carrmelus restitutus (Par. 1634, 4to): — Encyclop. Praemissum, seu sapientice universalis delineatio, etc. (1635, 4to): — Hist. Carmnelit. provincice Turonensis (1640, 4to). His sermons were published under the title La Somme des Sermons parenetiques et panegyriques (1671-75, 4 vols. fol.). See Hoefer, Nouv. Biog.
