Lamourette, Adrien
Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature
abbe, a noted French ecclesiastic, was born in Picardy in 1742. During the Revolution in France he became an auxiliary of Mirabeau in 1789, and wrote the address on the civil constitution of the clergy which that orator pronounced. In 1791 he was chosen, under the new Church regime enacted by the Assembly in opposition to the Roman see, bishop of Rhone-et- Loire, and deputed to the National Assembly, Having resisted the extreme measures of the dominant party, he was guillotined January 10, 1794.
