a minister of the Society of Friends, was born in Nansemond County, Va., in 695, and began preaching about 1718, first in the States, and later in various parts of England and Ireland, and some portions of Holland. He died Sept. 26, 1735. "He acquitted himself," was the testimony of the annual meeting of Virginia Quakers in the year of his death, "as a workman that need not be ashamed."
