Johns, W. G.
a minister of the Methodist Episcopal Church South, was born in Pulaski County, Ky., October 24, 1823, joined the Church at thirteen years of age, was licensed to preach in 1845, and continued in the work for twenty-one years, with interruptions for want of health. Indeed, it is said that so great was his devotion to the Christian ministry that he often preached when barely able to leave his room. He died October 23, 1866. Conf. Min. Meth. Episc.
