(now Kitro or Kidros), in Macedonia, the ancient Pydna, was bishop of that see about A.D. 1200. He is the author of Αποκρίσεις πρὸς Κωνσταντῖνον Ἀρχιεπίσκοπον Δυῤῥαχίου τὸν Καβάσιλαν (Responsa ad Constantinum Cabasilum, Archiepiscopum Dyrrachii), of which sixteen answers, with the questions prefixed, are given with a Latin version in the Jus Groeco-Romanorum of Leunclavius (Frankf. 1596, folio), 5, 323. A larger portion of the Response is given in the Synopsis Juris Groeci of Thomas Diplovaticius (Diplovatizio). Several MSS. of the Responsa contain twenty-four answers, others thirty-two; and Nicholas Comnenus Papadopoli, citing the work in his Proenotiones Mystagogicoe, speaks of a hundred. In one MS. he is mentioned with the surname of Dalassinus. Allatius, in his De Consensu, and Contra Hottingerum, quotes De Consuetudinibus et Dogmatibus Latinorum as the production of John of Citrus. See Fabricius, Bibl. Groeca, 11, 341, 590; Cave, Hist. Lit. 2. 279; Smith. Dictionary of Greek and Roman Biography, 2, 593.
