Jansen (Lat. Jansenius), Jacques
a Belgian theologian, was born at Amsterdam in 1547. He studied at Losuvain, was in 1575 first president of the newly-founded Augustinian college, in 1580 professor of theology, in 1614 dean, and died July 30, 1625.
