a Methodist Episcopal minister, was born at Oswegatchie, N. York, May 12, 1806; was converted in 1821, joined the Genesee Conference in 1826, was stationed at Buffalo in 1831, was agent for the Genesee Wesleyan Seminary in 1832, and died April 12, 1839. Mr. Hoag was a man of "quick perception, ready utterance, and clear discrimination." He was an able business man, and highly esteemed as a winning and successful minister.
