a learned English divine, was born in 1734, and was educated at Catharine Hall, Cambridge. After holding several preferments, he became Norris professor of divinity at Cambridge in 1780, then pastor of Passenham (Northamptonshire) and of Calvertoin (Buckinghamshire), and died at London in 1815.
