a German count and prelate, was born in 1722. He became bishop of Laybach in 1772, and was one of the most ardent promoters of the ecclesiastical innovations of his day. Pending negotiations with: the pope for his promotion to the archbishopric, he died, October 7, 1787, leaving his goods to the poor and to the. normal school of his episcopal city. See Hoefer, Nouv.
